To practice any vocab or dialog using a fun board game.
Pages: 1
How to use:
Preparation:
Distribute the board game, a die, and place markers to each group of 4 or so students.
Prepare cards with the target language for each group.
Procedure:
1) Explain/demonstrate the rules. (see below)
2) Get groups together and have them decide on an order.
3) The first student rolls the die and move his/her marker (any small object like an eraser would do) to the appropriate box. If there's a card icon, the students takes a card from the pile and must produce the language. (If it's a question, then the student may ask a group member the question. Alternatively, the group will ask the question to the student and he/she must answer.) The rules should be pretty self-explanatory: "miss a turn"; "go back/ahead 2 spaces"; "take the short-cut pass"; "take an extra turn".
4) Students take turns rolling the die and moving their markers. The first person to finish is the winner.
Notes:
I would recommend laminating the board so that it can be used repeatedly. It's a nice board game that is very flexible in what it can be used for.
Enjoy!
