How to use:
Preparation:
One board and accompanying set of cards for each group.
Procedure:
Break students into groups of 3 or 4. Each group has one board and a set of theme cards (sports, foods, places, jobs, animals). The cards are shuffled and placed face down. Students take turns drawing a card and placing it on the board. They must then produce a word that corresponds with the card's theme and the letter that it has been placed on. For example, if a food card is drawn and the student were to place it on "P" the student could say, or depending on the lesson and the student's level, spell, pineapple, pizza, pumpkin, pickle, etc. As the board fills up, it becomes increasingly more challenging to match letters and themes. The four free spaces may be used as any letter. A student is "out" if she cannot place a card.
